What is that?

...it's a Thuja! ... or at least it was. Located along the stairs leading to the Natural Bridge is the former oldest and largest specimen of Arborvitae in the world. Its approximate age at the time of its death in 1980 was 1600 years old! Not sure of the exact species but I would have to guess Thuja occidentalis, one of the 2 species native to North America. The other is T. plicata but that one is from out west.
